The 7 Trumpets in the book of Revelation
Trumpet one to four warn of the coming events at the time of wrath and call people to the attention of what is about to happen. Trumpet five and six are the actual events warned in trumpet one to four, while Trumpet Seven is the completion of the judgments decreed upon the earth’s inhabitants for breaking God’s laws. Trumpet seven announces that Jesus Christ has taken back from the enemy the dominion and authority to reign upon the earth.
Note that, the events of the seven seals and the seven trumpets do not necessarily happen in the sequence they are written, for example, the second seal is re-unsealed to release the antiChrist/the red horseman with a sword to take peace from the earth in the fifth Trumpet.This article looks at the events and their meanings as recorded in the trumpets.
The blowing of the seven Trumpets
Revelation 8 6 Then the seven angels who had the seven trumpets prepared to sound them.
By the time the trumpets are blown, the full number of gentiles will have come in and the sealing of the saints completed. This is confirmed by the message in Revelation 7, that warns against harming the land, the sea or the trees until the sealing is complete while the first trumpet warns a third of the earth, trees and grass is to burn up.
Revelation 7 After this I saw four angels standing at the four corners of the earth, holding back the four winds of the earth to prevent any wind from blowing on the land or on the sea or on any tree. 2 Then I saw another angel coming up from the east, having the seal of the living God. He called out in a loud voice to the four angels who had been given power to harm the land and the sea: 3 “Do not harm the land or the sea or the trees until we put a seal on the foreheads of the servants of our God.”
Revelation 8 7 The first angel sounded his trumpet, and there came hail and fire mixed with blood, and it was hurled down on the earth. A third of the earth was burned up, a third of the trees were burned up, and all the green grass was burned up.
Trumpet 1 is a warning of the blood that would spill from the war, famine and plague. The hail indicates the events about to take place are purposed and planned by God and not men, they are God’s judgment on earth to destroy the sinners, those who have broken His laws. In Isaiah 32:19, the saints are encouraged;
Isaiah 32:19-20 Though hail flattens the forest and the city is leveled completely,
20 how blessed you will be, sowing your seed by every stream,
and letting your cattle and donkeys range free.
Revelation 8 8 The second angel sounded his trumpet, and something like a huge mountain, all ablaze, was thrown into the sea. A third of the sea turned into blood, 9 a third of the living creatures in the sea died, and a third of the ships were destroyed.
The mountain referred to in trumpet two is the city of Babylon.The Word mountain symbolizes a big city, an example is in Jeremiah 31:23-25 where Jerusalem is referred to as a sacred mountain, and in Isaiah 2:2 and Micah 4:1 Jerusalem is the mountain of the Lord that shall be raised up above all cities in the last days, as it is written:
Jeremiah 31 23 This is what the Lord Almighty, the God of Israel, says: “When I bring them back from captivity, the people in the land of Judah and in its towns will once again use these words: ‘The Lord bless you, you prosperous city, you sacred mountain.’ 24 People will live together in Judah and all its towns—farmers and those who move about with their flocks. 25 I will refresh the weary and satisfy the faint.”
Trumpet two warns about the destruction of the city of Babylon that will happen at the blowing of the fifth trumpet. The city of Babylon will be carried out by the anti-Christ and the ten horns/kings of the dragon. The destruction of the city of Babylon as a mountain thrown into the sea is further recorded:
Revelation 18;21-24 21 Then a mighty angel picked up a boulder the size of a large millstone and threw it into the sea, and said: “With such violence the great city of Babylon will be thrown down, never to be found again. 22 The music of harpists and musicians, pipers and trumpeters,
will never be heard in you again. No worker of any trade will ever be found in you again.
The sound of a millstone will never be heard in you again. 23 The light of a lamp will never shine in you again. The voice of bridegroom and bride will never be heard in you again. Your merchants were the world’s important people. By your magic spell all the nations were led astray. 24 In her was found the blood of prophets and of God’s holy people, of all who have been slaughtered on the earth.”
The angels message will fulfill what was spoken through Jeremiah;
Jeremiah 50:25-3025 “I am against you, you destroying mountain, you who destroy the whole earth,” declares the Lord. “I will stretch out my hand against you, roll you off the cliffs, and make you a burned-out mountain. 26 No rock will be taken from you for a cornerstone, nor any stone for a foundation, for you will be desolate forever,” declares the Lord.
Jeremiah 51:60 60 Jeremiah had written on a scroll about all the disasters that would come upon Babylon—all that had been recorded concerning Babylon. 61 He said to Seraiah, “When you get to Babylon, see that you read all these words aloud. 62 Then say, ‘Lord, you have said you will destroy this place, so that neither people nor animals will live in it; it will be desolate forever.’ 63 When you finish reading this scroll, tie a stone to it and throw it into the Euphrates. 64 Then say, ‘So will Babylon sink to rise no more because of the disaster I will bring on her. And her people will fall.’”
Note that, the anti-Christ and his army will destroy the physical part, the city only. The spiritual Babylon will be destroyed at the war of Armageddon along with the false prophet who will rise from the earth to represent Babylon’s agenda of Idol worship through enforcing the worship of the anti-Christ image.
Before the destruction of the city of Babylon, there will be a five months martial law forcing all men to return back to their native land. It is at this time that the redeemed will receive a last warning to go to Zion. In those five months, the anti-Christ army will torture all people except Christians.
Revelation 8 10 The third angel sounded his trumpet, and a great star, blazing like a torch, fell from the sky on a third of the rivers and on the springs of water 11 the name of the star is Wormwood. A third of the waters turned bitter, and many people died from the waters that had become bitter.
The stars are: Daniel 12:3 3 Those who are wise will shine like the brightness of the heavens, and those who lead many to righteousness, like the stars for ever and ever.
The fallen star as spoken of in Trumpet 3 refers to the anti-Christ. The anti-Christ will start as a Christian, and grow as a christian leader. His faith will influence his growth towards the East, (East Africa, Mount Zion of the redeemed), and the beautiful land (Israel). He will also grow towards Egypt and North Africa through his trade alliances. Through trade he will grow in wealth and his influence as a Christian in Zion, Israel and North Africa will put him in the sport light for election among those who will oversee the world peace treaty. By the time he is elected into power he will have fallen as a Christian as it is written
Isaiah 14:12-1412 How you have fallen from heaven, morning star, son of the dawn!
You have been cast down to the earth, you who once laid low the nations!
13 You said in your heart, “I will ascend to the heavens; I will raise my throne above the stars of God; I will sit enthroned on the mount of assembly, on the utmost heights of Mount Zaphon.
14 I will ascend above the tops of the clouds; I will make myself like the Most High.”
The death of many people talked of in Trumpet 3 is not physical death but rather spiritual death signifying the fall of the stars or saints.Through the anti-Christ, the dragon or devil will deceive the saints and many will fall with him and thus dying spiritually. His part in the fall of the stars is recorded
Daniel 8:9 Out of one of them came another horn that started small but grew in power to the south and to the east and towards the beautiful land. It grew until it reached the hosts of the heavens and it threw some of the starry hosts down to the earth and trampled them.
Daniel 11:29-30 At the appointed time he will invade the south again but this time the outcome will be different from what it was before. 30Ships of the western coastline will oppose him and he will lose heat. Then he will turn back and vent his fury against the Holy covenant. He will return and show favor to those who forsake the holy covenant.
32 With flattery he will corrupt those who have violated the covenant, but the people who know their God will firmly resist him. 39He will attack the mightiest fortresses with the help of a foreign god and will greatly honor those who acknowledge him. He will make them rulers over many people and will distribute land at a price
Mathew 24 9 “Then you will be handed over to be persecuted and put to death, and you will be hated by all nations because of me. 10 At that time many will turn away from the faith and will betray and hate each other, 11 and many false prophets will appear and deceive many people. 12 Because of the increase of wickedness, the love of most will grow cold, 13 but the one who stands firm to the end will be saved. 14 And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in the whole world as a testimony to all nations, and then the end will come.
Revelation 8 12 The fourth angel sounded his trumpet, and a third of the sun was struck, a third of the moon, and a third of the stars, so that a third of them turned dark. A third of the day was without light, and also a third of the night.
Trumpet four is a warning of the signs in the sky that will happen as recorded in the 6th seal. These will be the last signals that the dark times are coming upon the inhabitants of the earth. The fourth trumpet points to a dark time that will cause fear and worry in all the earth. It will be this fear that will make the nations agree to persecute all those Who worship the true God in belief that the saints prayers are the cause of all evil. The events warned by trumpet four happen at Trumpet six when a huge army along with three out of the ten kings (3 out of the 10 horns of the dragon) will be killed at the war by the River Euphrates. The number of those who will die in that war is recorded:
Revelation 9:15-1615 And the four angels who had been kept ready for this very hour and day and month and year were released to kill a third of mankind. 16 The number of the mounted troops was twice ten thousand times ten thousand. I heard their number.
‘A third of the day and night was without light’ indicates a real event where the sun and moon will not shine. Immediately after the fall of the large army and the three kings (three kings or/horns of the dragon with 7 heads and ten horns. This three are those that must die before the small horn rises to power as recorded in Daniel 7), at that time, Egypt, Zion and Israel’s representative of the world peace treaty will fall to signify the time of the great persecution has started. Soon after the war, the three nations represented by the three kings who fall will be invaded by the armies of the anti-Christ. This darkening of the sun in broad daylight after Egypt and her allies are destroyed is recorded in Amos and confirmed in Ezekiel
Amos 8 7 The Lord has sworn by himself, the Pride of Jacob: “I will never forget anything they have done.
8 “Will not the land tremble for this, and all who live in it mourn
The whole land will rise like the Nile; it will be stirred up and then sink
like the river of Egypt. 9 “In that day,” declares the Sovereign Lord,
“I will make the sun go down at noon and darken the earth in broad daylight.
10 I will turn your religious festivals into mourning and all your singing into weeping.
I will make all of you wear sackcloth and shave your heads.
I will make that time like mourning for an only son and the end of it like a bitter day.
Ezekiel 32 7 When I snuff you out, [Egypt and her allies at the war by the great river Euphrates]I will cover the heavens and darken their stars; I will cover the sun with a cloud,
and the moon will not give its light. 8 All the shining lights in the heavens
I will darken over you; I will bring darkness over your land, declares the Sovereign Lord.
The Eagle’s lament before Trumpet 5, 6 and 7,
Revelation 813 As I watched, I heard an eagle that was flying in midair call out in a loud voice: “Woe! Woe! Woe to the inhabitants of the earth, because of the trumpet blasts about to be sounded by the other three angels!”
Just before the 5,6 and 7th trumpet are sounded by an eagle flying in mid air call out in a loud voice, Woe! Woe to the inhabitants of the earth because of the trumpet sounds that are to follow. This is because, the events warned in trumpet one to four start happening in Trumpet five and six while Trumpet Seven announces that Jesus Christ has taken back from the enemy the dominion and authority to reign upon the earth.Note that, mankind lost the dominion and authority to rule upon the earth to that ancient serpent. At the moment, it’s that serpent and his fallen angels that rule over the earth through Babylon and selected kings of the earth. As it is written;
John 12:31 31 Now is the time for judgment on this world; now the prince of this world will be driven out.
Although this is a cause of joy in Heaven, it will be a time of stress upon the earth as the devil and his angels are thrown down to earth to cause destruction like never before upon the earth as it is written;
Revelation 12: 10 Then I heard a loud voice in heaven say: “Now have come the salvation and the power and the kingdom of our God, and the authority of his Messiah. For the accuser of our brothers and sisters, who accuses them before our God day and night, has been hurled down.
12 Therefore rejoice, you heavens and you who dwell in them! But woe to the earth and the sea,
because the devil has gone down to you! He is filled with fury, because he knows that his time is short.”
The eagle cries aloud on behalf of those on earth because the events of the fifth, sixth and seventh trumpet will be like those never felt before upon the earth. It will be a time of darkness like never before. From the fifth Trumpet the large army of the anti-Christ will torture and kill with the aggressiveness of the ancient Assyrian army. as was spoken;
Mathew 24:21 21 For then there will be great distress, unequaled from the beginning of the world until now—and never to be equaled again.
Joel 2 … Let all who live in the land tremble, for the day of the Lord is coming. It is close at hand—2 a day of darkness and gloom, a day of clouds and blackness. Like dawn spreading across the mountains a large and mighty army comes, such as never was in ancient times nor ever will be in ages to come.
Revelation 9 The fifth angel sounded his trumpet, and I saw a star that had fallen from the sky to the earth. The star was given the key to the shaft of the Abyss. 2 When he opened the Abyss, smoke rose from it like the smoke from a gigantic furnace. The sun and sky were darkened by the smoke from the Abyss. 3 And out of the smoke locusts came down on the earth and were given power like that of scorpions of the earth. 4 They were told not to harm the grass of the earth or any plant or tree, but only those people who did not have the seal of God on their foreheads. 5 They were not allowed to kill them but only to torture them for five months. And the agony they suffered was like that of the sting of a scorpion when it strikes.6 During those days people will seek death but will not find it; they will long to die, but death will elude them.
7 The locusts looked like horses prepared for battle. On their heads they wore something like crowns of gold, and their faces resembled human faces. 8 Their hair was like women’s hair, and their teeth were like lions’ teeth. 9 They had breastplates like breastplates of iron, and the sound of their wings was like the thundering of many horses and chariots rushing into battle. 10 They had tails with stingers, like scorpions, and in their tails they had power to torment people for five months. 11 They had as king over them the angel of the Abyss, whose name in Hebrew is Abaddon and in Greek is Apollyon (that is, Destroyer).
Trumpet 5 is best understood if we discuss it step by step:
The fallen star given the keys to the shaft of the abyss
Revelation 9 The fifth angel sounded his trumpet, and I saw a star that had fallen from the sky to the earth. The star was given the key to the shaft of the Abyss
The star that had fallen is the anti-Christ. His fall is indicated in trumpet 3. He falls to become the angel of the Abyss who lets free the ‘beast who once was, now not yet will come up out of the abyss and go to his destruction’ described in Revelation 17. This beast who once was now not, will rise up again from the Abyss as the 8th head of the dragon. the 8th head is among the 7 heads but counted as 8 because he rises again, not to rule for himself, but to rule on behalf of the anti-Christ as indicated in Revelation 13. He is the beast out of the Earth (Abyss). As a beast, he will represent both a king and a kingdom. As a king he will represent the false prophet, as a kingdom he will represent the spirit of the Babylonian kingdom. Though he is let free in the fifth trumpet he does not rise to power until after he kills the three kings who will oppose him at the war by the River Euphrates. The spirit of Babylon will use magic arts and sorcery to raise the fallen angel bound by the great river Euphrates. These four angels will kill the large army as described in Trumpet 4 and 6.
Note: The main event of trumpet five will be the destruction of Babylon
The anti-Christ will rise with a large army and the backing of the ten kings. The ten kings and the anti-Christ will plan to destroy Babylon for its wickedness as soon as they rise to power. This will be according to God’s will and purposes as it is written,
Revelation 17 One of the seven angels who had the seven bowls came and said to me, “Come, I will show you the punishment of the great prostitute, who sits by many waters. 2 With her the kings of the earth committed adultery, and the inhabitants of the earth were intoxicated with the wine of her adulteries.”
18 The woman you saw is the great city that rules over the kings of the earth.”
12 “The ten horns you saw are ten kings who have not yet received a kingdom, but who for one hour will receive authority as kings along with the beast. 13 They have one purpose and will give their power and authority to the beast. 16 The beast and the ten horns you saw will hate the prostitute. They will bring her to ruin and leave her naked; they will eat her flesh and burn her with fire. 17 For God has put it into their hearts to accomplish his purpose by agreeing to hand over to the beast their royal authority, until God’s words are fulfilled.
Isaiah 48:12-14 12 “Listen to me, Jacob, Israel, whom I have called:
I am He; I am the first and I am the last.
13 My own hand laid the foundations of the earth,
and my right hand spread out the heavens; when I summon them,
they all stand up together. 14“Come together, all of you, and listen: Which of the idols has foretold these things? The Lord’s chosen ally will carry out his purpose against Babylon; his arm will be against the Babylonians. 15 I, even I, have spoken; yes, I have called him. I will bring him, and he will succeed in his mission
The five months torture of non believers
Revelation 9 3 And out of the smoke locusts came down on the earth and were given power like that of scorpions of the earth.
In their arrangements to destroy Babylon, a five months martial law forcing everyone to return to their land will be decreed. In that time, the armies will torture non-believers while all the believers will be spared. Christians will be required to go to Zion ( East Africa) the place of the redeemed to mark the full number of the gentiles sealed. The decree for all to return to their native lands and the warning for the saints to flee to Zion was prophesied;
Isaiah 13 :9-1 6 See, the day of the Lord is coming —a cruel day, with wrath and fierce anger—to make the land desolate and destroy the sinners within it.10 The stars of heaven and their constellations will not show their light. The rising sun will be darkened and the moon will not give its light. 11 I will punish the world for its evil, the wicked for their sins .I will put an end to the arrogance of the haughty and will humble the pride of the ruthless.12 I will make people scarcer than pure gold, more rare than the gold of Ophir. 13 Therefore I will make the heavens tremble; and the earth will shake from its place at the wrath of the Lord Almighty, in the day of his burning anger. 14 Like a hunted gazelle, like sheep without a shepherd, they will all return to their own people, they will flee to their native land. 15 Whoever is captured will be thrust through; all who are caught will fall by the sword. 16 Their infants will be dashed to pieces before their eyes; their houses will be looted and their wives violated.
Jeremiah 50:16 Cut off from Babylon the sower, and the reaper with his sickle at harvest Because of the sword of the oppressor let everyone return to their own people, let everyone flee to their own land.
Jeremiah 50:8 “Flee out of Babylon; leave the land of the Babylonians, and be like the goats that lead the flock. 28 Listen to the fugitives and refugees from Babylon
declaring in Zion how the Lord our God has taken vengeance,
vengeance for his temple
The locusts army that have the destroyer as their commander
When the anti-Christ and the ten kings will be elected to power to oversee the world peace treaty, the anti-Christ will deceive them and with those few people, he will receive authority and power over their regions and thus becoming a world leader having power over all the world and their armies. This army will be as large and well organised as swarms of locust as described;
Revelation 9 2 When he opened the Abyss, smoke rose from it like the smoke from a gigantic furnace. The sun and sky were darkened by the smoke from the Abyss. 3 And out of the smoke locusts came down on the earth and were given power like that of scorpions of the earth…7 The locusts looked like horses prepared for battle…..9 They had breastplates like breastplates of iron, and the sound of their wings was like the thundering of many horses and chariots rushing into battle. 11 They had as king over them the angel of the Abyss, whose name in Hebrew is Abaddon and in Greek is Apollyon (that is, Destroyer).
The Lord had spoken about this large army through whom he will use along with the anti-Christ to bring His vengeance upon the earth;
Isaiah 13: 4-5 Listen, a noise on the mountains, like that of a great multitude!
Listen, an uproar among the kingdoms, like nations massing together!
The Lord Almighty is mustering an army for war.
5 They come from faraway lands, from the ends of the heavens—
the Lord and the weapons of his wrath— to destroy the whole country
Joel 2:4-9 4 They have the appearance of horses; they gallop along like cavalry.
5 With a noise like that of chariots they leap over the mountaintops,
like a crackling fire consuming stubble, like a mighty army drawn up for battle.
6 At the sight of them, nations are in anguish; every face turns pale.
7 They charge like warriors; they scale walls like soldiers.
They all march in line, not swerving from their course.
8 They do not jostle each other; each marches straight ahead.
They plunge through defenses without breaking ranks.
9 They rush upon the city; they run along the wall.
They climb into the houses; like thieves they enter through the windows.
Zephaniah 1 14 The great day of the Lord is near, near and coming quickly.
The cry on the day of the Lord is bitter; the Mighty Warrior shouts his battle cry.
15 That day will be a day of wrath, a day of distress and anguish,
a day of trouble and ruin, a day of darkness and gloom,
a day of clouds and blackness, 16 a day of trumpet and battle cry
against the fortified cities and against the corner towers.
17 “I will bring such distress on all people that they will grope about like those who are blind,
because they have sinned against the Lord.
Their blood will be poured out like dust and their entrails like dung.
18 Neither their silver nor their gold will be able to save them
on the day of the Lord’s wrath. In the fire of his jealousy
the whole earth will be consumed, for he will make a sudden end
of all who live on the earth.
Jeremiah 48:8 The destroyer will come against every town, and not a town will escape.
The valley will be ruined and the plateau destroyed, because the Lord has spoken
The 6th Trumpet
Revelation 9 13 The sixth angel sounded his trumpet, and I heard a voice coming from the four horns of the golden altar that is before God. 14 It said to the sixth angel who had the trumpet, “Release the four angels who are bound at the great river Euphrates.” 15 And the four angels who had been kept ready for this very hour and day and month and year were released to kill a third of mankind. 16 The number of the mounted troops was twice ten thousand times ten thousand. I heard their number.
17 The horses and riders I saw in my vision looked like this: Their breastplates were fiery red, dark blue, and yellow as sulfur. The heads of the horses resembled the heads of lions, and out of their mouths came fire, smoke and sulfur. 18 A third of mankind was killedby the three plagues of fire, smoke and sulfur that came out of their mouths. 19 The power of the horses was in their mouths and in their tails; for their tails were like snakes, having heads with which they inflict injury.
20 The rest of mankind who were not killed by these plagues still did not repent of the work of their hands; they did not stop worshiping demons, and idols of gold, silver, bronze, stone and wood—idols that cannot see or hear or walk. 21 Nor did they repent of their murders, their magic arts, their sexual immorality or their thefts.
The sixth seal is about the events that will occur at the war by the great river Euphrates where a large army will perish along with the three kings/horns of the dragon. These three kings will be among the ten elected along with the anti-Christ to oversee the world peace treaty. The three kings who will fall at this war by the great river Euphrates will be the representatives of Egypt, Israel and Mount Zion. The three will go to war against the king of the north (anti-Christ) led by the king representing Egypt. As it is written:
Jeremiah 46: 3-4, 10-12 3 “Prepare your shields, both large and small, and march out for battle!
4 Harness the horses, mount the steeds! Take your positions
with helmets on! Polish your spears, put on your armor!
10 But that day belongs to the Lord, the Lord Almighty—
a day of vengeance, for vengeance on his foes.
The sword will devour till it is satisfied, till it has quenched its thirst with blood.
For the Lord, the Lord Almighty, will offer sacrifice
11 “Go up to Gilead and get balm, Virgin Daughter Egypt.
But you try many medicines in vain; there is no healing for you.
12 The nations will hear of your shame; your cries will fill the earth.
One warrior will stumble over another; both will fall down together.”
in the land of the north by the River Euphrates.
Ezekiel 30:5-8 5 Cush and Libya, Lydia and all Arabia,
Kub and the people of the covenant land will fall by the sword along with Egypt.
6 “‘This is what the Lord says:
“‘The allies of Egypt will fall and her proud strength will fail.
From Migdol to Aswan they will fall by the sword within her,declares the Sovereign Lord.
7 “‘They will be desolate among desolate lands, and their cities will lie among ruined cities.
8 Then they will know that I am the Lord, when I set fire to Egypt and all her helpers are crushed.
Jeremiah 46:24:26 24 Daughter Egypt will be put to shame, given into the hands of the people of the north.”25 The Lord Almighty, the God of Israel, says: “I am about to bring punishment on Amon god of Thebes, on Pharaoh, on Egypt and her gods and her kings, and on those who rely on Pharaoh. 26 I will give them into the hands of those who want to kill them Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon and his officers. Later, however, Egypt will be inhabited as in times past,” declares the Lord.
Ezekiel 30:2-4 2 “Son of man, prophesy and say: ‘This is what the Sovereign Lord says:
“‘Wail and say, “Alas for that day!” 3 For the day is near, the day of the Lord is near—
a day of clouds a time of doom for the nations. 4 A sword will come against Egypt,
and anguish will come upon Cush. When the slain fall in Egypt,
her wealth will be carried away and her foundations torn down.
Ezekiel 30:59 “‘On that day messengers will go out from me in ships to frighten Cush out of her complacency. Anguish will take hold of them on the day of Egypt’s doom, for it is sure to come.
10 “‘This is what the Sovereign Lord says:
“‘I will put an end to the hordes of Egypt by the hand of Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon.
11 He and his army—the most ruthless of nations—will be brought in to destroy the land.
They will draw their swords against Egypt and fill the land with the slain.
12 I will dry up the waters of the Nile and sell the land to an evil nation;
by the hand of foreigners I will lay waste the land and everything in it.
The Seventh Trumpet
The completion of the time of wrath for the saints
Revelation 11 15 The seventh angel sounded his trumpet, and there were loud voices in heaven, which said:
“The kingdom of the world has become
the kingdom of our Lord and of his Messiah,
and he will reign for ever and ever.”
16 And the twenty-four elders, who were seated on their thrones before God, fell on their faces and worshiped God, 17 saying:
“We give thanks to you, Lord God Almighty,
the One who is and who was,
because you have taken your great power
and have begun to reign.
Trumpet seven announces that the judgments decreed upon the nations are complete. The dominion and authority to rule upon the earth that was lost in the Garden of Eden to that ancient serpent has been regained back by Jesus Christ. Note; wrath is poured upon all mankind including the saints, but at the blowing of the 7th trumpet, the saints are shielded as the 7 plagues are poured upon those who will have received the number of the beast. Also note; before the seventh Trumpet, it’s that serpent and his fallen angels who rule over the earth through Babylon.
The wrath of the Lamb through the seven plagues over those who will have the mark of beast
Revelation 11: 18 The nations were angry, and your wrath has come.
The time has come for judging the dead, and for rewarding your servants the prophets
and your people who revere your name, both great and small—
and for destroying those who destroy the earth.”
At the blowing of the seventh trumpet, the judgments decreed for this age upon all nations for breaking the laws of the Most High God are complete but the wrath of the Lamb remains upon those who refuse the Grace of Salvation through Jesus Christ. At that time, only those who are dead spiritually will receive the wrath of the Lamb, those who will have accepted the number or mark of the anti-Christ . Note that, all those who will refuse to accept Jesus Christ will take the mark, there will be no middle ground, its either with Jesus Christ as savior leading to eternal life, or the mark or of the beast leading to eternal death.
Revelation 6 15 Then the kings of the earth, the princes, the generals, the rich, the mighty, and everyone else, both slave and free, hid in caves and among the rocks of the mountains. 16 They called to the mountains and the rocks, “Fall on us and hide us from the face of him who sits on the throne and from the wrath of the Lamb!17 For the great day of their wrath has come, and who can withstand it?
Note that, all the saints who will be alive at that time will not face the wrath of the Lamb. They would have gone through the wrath of God during the great persecution, and at the blowing of the 7th trumpet when God’s wrath upon all nations is complete, those in Christ Jesus will be free from their hard times and in waiting for the salvation that will come at Jesus Christ coming during the war of Armageddon. For it is written;
Romans 8:1 Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus,
At that time of the plagues, the saints are advised to hide inside until the wrath of The Lord and God Jesus Christ passes, as it is written in
Isaiah 26:20-21 Go, my people, enter your rooms and shut the doors behind you;
hide yourselves for a little while until his wrath has passed by.
21 See, the Lord is coming out of his dwelling to punish the people of the earth for their sins.
The earth will disclose the blood shed on it; the earth will conceal its slain no longer.
Note that; Babylon is to blame for all the shed blood upon the earth. At the beginning of wrath, the city of Babylon is destroyed however not the Spirit of Babylon. The essence of Babylon will be destroyed along with the false prophet and the beast at the war of Armageddon. All those who accept the mark of the beast will be off-springs of wickedness represented by Babylon and therefore receive the seven plague judgments for destroying the earth and the blood shed along with Babylon. Babylon that represents wickedness and is responsible for all the blood spilled upon the earth as it is written;
Revelation 18:24 24 And in her was found the blood of prophets, and of saints, and of all that were slain upon the earth.KJV
Also note; the dead talked of in Revelation 11:18 are the dead in Spirit. Those who are dead in flesh will rise to be judged after the 1000 year period. Also the rewarding of the saints is the punishment on those who oppressed them, Babylon and the end time beast. The culmination of the saints’ reward will be the coming of Jesus Christ when those who die for their faith during the great persecution will be risen to rule with Jesus Christ. Jesus Christ will rule through the child of Revelation 12 from the new age.
The temple of God with the ark of the covenant opened in heaven as indicated in Rev. 11:19
Revelation 11: 19 19 Then God’s temple in heaven was opened, and within his temple was seen the ark of his covenant. And there came flashes of lightning, rumblings, peals of thunder, an earthquake and a severe hailstorm.
In verse 11:19, God’s temple in heaven will be opened and the ark of the covenant that contained the Ten Commandments will be seen as testimony to all who live on Earth. The Ten Commandments are shown to the inhabitants of the earth to act as testimony against the sins committed by men before the full wrath of God is unleashed on Earth. This will be in agreement with what was spoken through Isaiah, what Jesus Christ said.
It is important to understand that the laws of the living God have not been abolished. The messages of Paul in regards to the law should be read with a lot of patience, and a need to understand why and to who were the messages meant. Paul wrote so much on the law, and I have to admit that reading about the law as written by Paul can be confusing without the Holy Spirit and patience to guide one through what Paul intended to say. It should be understood that in some parts, his audience or the subject in question made him write in a certain way. However we clarify all things regarding faith through what Jesus Christ said on the subject, and in matters of the law, The true and Good shepherd made it clear, the law is not abolished. Isaiah also confirms the law is still to be kept by the True church, although Righteousness is a gift that comes through faith in Jesus Christ, there remains a place for the law, as it is written;
Isaiah 9:17 To the law and the testimony! If they do not speak according to this Word, They have no light of dawn. Distressed and hungry, They will roam through the land, when they are famished, They will become enraged, And looking upward, will curse their king and GOD. Then they will look towards the earth, And see only distress and darkness and fearful gloom, And they will be thrust into utter darkness
Romans 615 … Shall we sin because we are not under the law but under grace? By no means! 16 Don’t you know that when you offer yourselves to someone as obedient slaves, you are slaves of the one you obey—whether you are slaves to sin, which leads to death, or to obedience, which leads to righteousness?
Romans 7 7 What shall we say, then? Is the law sinful? Certainly not! Nevertheless, I would not have known what sin was had it not been for the law. For I would not have known what coveting really was if the law had not said, “You shall not covet.” 8 But sin, seizing the opportunity afforded by the commandment, produced in me every kind of coveting. For apart from the law, sin was dead
Romans 7: 14 14 We know that the law is spiritual… Romans 7 :12 12 .., the law is holy, and the commandment is holy, righteous and good. Romans 2:, 20 … the embodiment of knowledge and truth— Romans 3 19 … so that every mouth may be silenced and the whole world held accountable to God
Mathew 5: 17 “Do not think that I have come to abolish the Law or the Prophets; I have not come to abolish them but to fulfill them. 18 For truly I tell you, until heaven and earth disappear, not the smallest letter, not the least stroke of a pen, will by any means disappear from the Law until everything is accomplished. 19 Therefore anyone who sets aside one of the least of these commands and teaches others accordingly will be called least in the kingdom of heaven, but whoever practices and teaches these commands will be called great in the kingdom of heaven.
Luke 16:16-17 16 “The Law and the Prophets were proclaimed until John. Since that time, the good news of the kingdom of God is being preached, and everyone is forcing their way into it. 17 It is easier for heaven and earth to disappear than for the least stroke of a pen to drop out of the Law
Romans 3:3131 Do we, then, nullify the law by this faith? Not at all! Rather, we uphold the law.
Romans 2 13 .. it is not those who hear the law who are righteous in God’s sight, but it is those who obey the law who will be declared righteous. 14 (Indeed, when Gentiles, who do not have the law, do by nature things required by the law, they are a law for themselves, even though they do not have the law. 15 They show that the requirements of the law are written on their hearts, their consciences also bearing witness, and their thoughts sometimes accusing them and at other times even defending them.)
It is clear we can not attain righteousness by our actions, righteousness can only be given to us as a gift available to all who believe in God through Jesus Christ. We can not do anything to make God bless us or love us more, however there still remains a place for the commands of God as Jesus Christ made it clear. Finding the Truth about the place of the commandments in the modern age christian is crucial as we near the time of wrath.
