Revealing of the nation that was chosen to make Israel envious
The signs of the end will start with the preparation of the church for the second coming. As part of the preparation of the church, the nation that was chosen to bring Israel back to God will be revealed. The Lord had spoken about Israel saying:
Deuteronomy 32: 17 They sacrificed to false gods, which are not God—
gods they had not known, gods that recently appeared,
gods your ancestors did not fear.
21 They made me jealous by what is no god
and angered me with their worthless idols.
I will make them envious by those who are not a people;
I will make them angry by a nation that has no understanding.
- Isaiah 28 11 Very well then, with foreign lips and strange tongues God will speak to this people, 12 to whom he said, “This is the resting place, let the weary rest”;
and, “This is the place of repose”— but they would not listen.
13 So then, the word of the Lord to them will become:
Do this, do that, a rule for this, a rule for that;
a little here, a little there—
so that as they go they will fall backward; they will be injured and snared and captured.
- Isaiah 69 He said, “Go and tell this people:
“‘Be ever hearing, but never understanding; be ever seeing, but never perceiving.’
10 Make the heart of this people calloused; make their ears dull
and close their eyes. Otherwise they might see with their eyes,
hear with their ears, understand with their hearts, and turn and be healed.”
11 Then I said, “For how long, Lord?”
And he answered:
“Until the cities lie ruined and without inhabitant,
until the houses are left deserted and the fields ruined and ravaged,
12 until the Lord has sent everyone far away
and the land is utterly forsaken.
Paul confirms this;
- Romans 11 11 Again I ask: Did they stumble so as to fall beyond recovery? Not at all! Rather, because of their transgression, salvation has come to the Gentiles to make Israel envious.
7 What then? What the people of Israel sought so earnestly they did not obtain. The elect among them did, but the others were hardened, 8 as it is written:
“God gave them a spirit of stupor,
eyes that could not see
and ears that could not hear,
to this very day.
The nation that was chosen to make Israel envious and bring the Israelites back to God is spiritually known as Mount Zion as it is written;
Psalms 78: 67 Then he rejected the tents of Joseph,
he did not choose the tribe of Ephraim;
68 but he chose the tribe of Judah, Mount Zion, which he loved.
Psalms 132: 13 For the Lord has chosen Zion,
he has desired it for his dwelling, saying,
14 “This is my resting place for ever and ever;
here I will sit enthroned, for I have desired it.
15 I will bless her with abundant provisions;
her poor I will satisfy with food.
16 I will clothe her priests with salvation,
and her faithful people will ever sing for joy.
Regarding Israel, God said:
Isaiah 65 2 All day long I have held out my hands to an obstinate people,
who walk in ways not good, pursuing their own imaginations—
3 a people who continually provoke me to my very face,
offering sacrifices in gardens
and burning incense on altars of brick;
4 who sit among the graves and spend their nights keeping secret vigil;
who eat the flesh of pigs, and whose pots hold broth of impure meat;
5 who say, ‘Keep away; don’t come near me, for I am too sacred for you!’
Such people are smoke in my nostrils,
a fire that keeps burning all day
And of Zion He says: Isaiah 65:5 “I revealed myself to those who did not ask for me;
I was found by those who did not seek me.
To a nation that did not call on my name,
I said, ‘Here am I, here am I
Psalms 14: 7 Oh, that salvation for Israel would come out of Zion!
When the Lord restores his people,
let Jacob rejoice and Israel be glad!
Paul confirms this salvation from Zion at the end of this age when God forgives all the sins of Israel in
- Romans 11: 25 I do not want you to be ignorant of this mystery, brothers and sisters, so that you may not be conceited: Israel has experienced a hardening in part until the full number of the Gentiles has come in,26 and in this way all Israel will be saved. As it is written:
“The deliverer will come from Zion;
he will turn godlessness away from Jacob.
27 And this is my covenant with them
when I take away their sins.”
Mount Zion represents a nation that was chosen in the days of the prophets and the church as a whole, and so it is written;
Hebrews 12: 22 …you have come to Mount Zion, to the city of the living God, the heavenly Jerusalem. You have come to thousands upon thousands of angels in joyful assembly, 23 to the church of the firstborn, whose names are written in heaven. have come to God, the Judge of all, to the spirits of the righteous made perfect, 24 to Jesus the mediator of a new covenant, and to the sprinkled blood that speaks a better word than the blood of Abel.
