Why is it important for Zion to be revealed:

As part of the end time signs, the church will be prepared for the second coming.  The first sign that will be obvious that we are in the end days will be the revealing of the nation that was chosen to make Israel envious, Mount Zion of the redeemed;

Mount Zion of the place of the redeemed will be revealed at the end of this age for three reasons; as witness to all men that the signs of the end have started, through the releasing of Creation from bondage, for all the redeemed to know where they are to return to Israel, and as a sign for Israel concerning their redemption.

It is written:

  • Romans 8: 19 … the creation waits in eager expectation for the children of God to be revealed.20 For the creation was subjected to frustration, not by its own choice, but by the will of the one who subjected it, in hope 21 that[h] the creation itself will be liberated from its bondage to decay and brought into the freedom and glory of the children of God.

 When Mount Zion is revealed, creation will be liberated from its bondage and thus the nation of Zion will be restored into the glory of Eden.

Isaiah 51:3 The LORD will surely comfort Zion and will look with compassion on all her ruins; he will make her deserts like Eden, her wastelands like the garden of the LORD. Joy and gladness will be found in her, thanksgiving and the sound of singing.

The restoration of Zion into the Garden of Eden will be a sign to all mankind that Jesus Christ is Who the Gospel says He is. His blood is able to release from the bondage of sin and redeem unto eternal life. He was from the beginning of the generations and to the very end He will be. He prophesied these things in the ages past and at their appointed time He brings them into being as He Spoke through Isaiah;

Isaiah 48:  I am the first and I am the last.

 3 I foretold the former things long ago,
my mouth announced them and I made them known;
then suddenly I acted, and they came to pass.

13 My own hand laid the foundations of the earth,
and my right hand spread out the heavens;
when I summon them, they all stand up together.

16 “Come near me and listen to this: “From the first announcement I have not spoken in secret;
at the time it happens, I am there.”

In the book of Joel the revealing of Zion at the end of this age during the events of the first seal is confirmed. The passage talks of the army of locust that will rise at the start of The Time of God’s vengeance upon the earth in Trumpet five. The army of Locust rises to power under the command of the anti-Christ (destroyer), before the army rises, Zion will be like the Garden of Eden

Joel Blow the trumpet in Zion; sound the alarm on my holy hill. Let all who live in the land tremble, for the day of the Lord is coming.
It is close at hand— a day of darkness and gloom,
a day of clouds and blackness. Like dawn spreading across the mountains
a large and mighty army comes, such as never was in ancient times
nor ever will be in ages to come.

They have the appearance of horses; they gallop along like cavalry.
With a noise like that of chariots they leap over the mountaintops,
like a crackling fire consuming stubble, like a mighty army drawn up for battle.

Before them fire devours, behind them a flame blazes.
Before them the land is like the garden of Eden,
behind them, a desert waste—nothing escapes them.

Apart from the releasing of creation from bondage, mount Zion has to be revealed for the sake of the saints. At the end of this age, all saints will be called back to Zion, find the scriptures that support this in the next article

The ransomed of the Lord will return to Zion

Isaiah 35:10 and the ransomed of the Lord will return, they will enter Zion with singing, everlasting joy will crown their heads. Gladness and joy will overtake them and sorrow and sighing will flee away

And a highway will be there;  it will be called the Way of Holiness;
it will be for those who walk on that Way. The unclean will not journey on it;
wicked fools will not go about on it. No lion will be there,
nor any ravenous beast;  they will not be found there.
But only the redeemed will walk there,

Isaiah 51 11 Those the Lord has rescued will return. They will enter Zion with singing;
everlasting joy will crown their heads. Gladness and joy will overtake them,
and sorrow and sighing will flee away. 12 “I, even I, am he who comforts you.
Who are you that you fear mere mortals, human beings who are but grass,
13 that you forget the Lord your Maker, who stretches out the heavens
and who lays the foundations of the earth, that you live in constant terror every day
because of the wrath of the oppressor,  who is bent on destruction?
For where is the wrath of the oppressor?

Isaiah 49 19 “Though you were ruined and made desolate and your land laid waste,

now you will be too small for your people,  and those who devoured you will be far away.
20 The children born during your bereavement will yet say in your hearing,
‘This place is too small for us; give us more space to live in.’
21 Then you will say in your heart, ‘Who bore me these?
I was bereaved and barren;  I was exiled and rejected. Who brought these up? I was left all alone, but these—where have they come from?’”

22 This is what the Sovereign Lord says: “See, I will beckon to the nations,
I will lift up my banner to the peoples; they will bring your sons in their arms
and carry your daughters on their hips.

Isaiah 49 11 I will turn all my mountains into roads, and my highways will be raised up.
12 See, they will come from afar some from the north, some from the west,
some from the region of Aswan.”

13 Shout for joy, you heavens; rejoice, you earth; burst into song, you mountains!
For the Lord comforts his people and will have compassion on his afflicted ones.

17 Your children hasten back, and those who laid you waste depart from you.
18 Lift up your eyes and look around; all your children gather and come to you.
As surely as I live,” declares the Lord, “you will wear them all as ornaments;
you will put them on, like a bride.

Before The city of Babylon is destroyed as recorded in Revelation 17, and Jeremiah 50 and Jeremiah 51 all the redeemed will be warned to go back to Mount Zion the place of the redeemed:

Jeremiah 51 6“Flee from Babylon! Run for your lives!
Do not be destroyed because of her sins. It is time for the Lord’s vengeance;
he will repay her what she deserves.Babylon was a gold cup in the Lord’s hand;
she made the whole earth drunk. The nations drank her wine;
therefore they have now gone mad.

10 “‘The Lord has vindicated us;
come, let us tell in Zion
what the Lord our God has done.’

Revelation 18 Then I heard another voice from heaven say:

“‘Come out of her, my people,’ so that you will not share in her sins,
so that you will not receive any of her plagues; for her sins are piled up to heaven,
and God has remembered her crimes.

Jeremiah 50:8, 28 Flee out of Babylon; leave the land of the Babylonians,
and be like the goats that lead the flock.

Listen to the fugitives and refugees from Babylon declaring in Zion
how the Lord our God has taken vengeance, vengeance for his temple.
