Heavenly lights: Symbols and their meanings;

Heavenly lights: Symbols and their meanings;

The heavenly lights have been used symbolically in Bible prophesies. Understanding what they symbolize helps us  key prophecies in the Bible such as the falling of the stars and the woman clothed with the sun and the moon under her feet.

Stars – refer to all who believe in Jesus and lead others to the Truth of salvation. The brightness of the heavens is used to refer to all believers who have the heavenly knowledge that lead many to the knowledge of Jesus Christ and salvation,

Daniel 12:3 Those who are wise will shine like the brightness of the heavens, and those who lead many to righteousness, like the stars for ever and ever.

Thus, a star= those who lead many to righteousness, like the stars for ever and ever (leading many to righteousness implies a Christian leader).

“Star ” are symbolically used in the ‘falling of the stars’ in Trumpet three Rev 8, the sixth seal in Rev 7 and parts of scripture.

Revelation 8: 10 The third angel sounded his trumpet, and a great star, blazing like a torch, fell from the sky on a third of the rivers and on the springs of water— 11 the name of the star is Wormwood. A third of the waters turned bitter, and many people died from the waters that had become bitter.

A great star blazing like a torch= ones whose light of leading many to righteousness shines very bright=a Christian leader at the peak of power leading many Christians to righteousness

Rivers and springs of water symbolize people from all nations and languages as revealed, Revelation 17: 15 Then the angel said to me, “The waters you saw, …, are peoples, multitudes, nations and languages.

Thus, the star blazing like a torch who falls on a third of rivers and springs of water in trumpet three =A Christian leader who falls on a third of people, multitudes and languages at the peak of his power in leading many to righteousness. The a third of people he falls on, will turn bitter and die from that bitterness.

The star of trumpet 3 is the anti-Christ who will be a Christian believer and leader, at the height of his faith and leadership in the Church, he will fall and will cause others to fall with him thus dying spiritually. As it is written;

Daniel 8Out of one of them came another horn, which started small but grew in power to the south and to the east and toward the Beautiful Land. 10 It grew until it reached the host of the heavens, and it threw some of the starry host down to the earth and trampled on them11 It set itself up to be as great as the commander of the army of the Lord; it took away the daily sacrifice from the Lord, and his sanctuary was thrown down

In Daniel 8, it is made clear the anti-Christ will start small growing toward, the South which is Egypt and other northern African nations (refer to Daniel 11), towards the Beautiful Land which is Israel and toward the East. He will grow to the highest position as a Christian leader and at the height of his power, he will fall and bring many down with him.

It is important to know, not all who fall at that time will remain as fallen stars, as it is written;

Daniel 11:35 Some of the wise will stumble, so that they may be refined, purified and made spotless until the time of the end, for it will still come at the appointed time.

The heavenly lights as used to describe the woman of Revelation 12

Revelation 12 A great sign appeared in heaven: a woman clothed with the sun, with the moon under her feet and a crown of twelve stars on her head

Clothed with the sun

‘Clothed with the sun’ symbolizes the clothing of heavenly wisdom that will lead many to righteousness as written in Daniel 12:3 Those who are wise will shine like the brightness of the heavens…

Her clothes shine with the brightness of the sun which is the brightest among the stars, meaning the wisdom of Jesus Christ through her will shine brightest and will be vital and key to the end time church and salvation of many who are lost.

The moon under her feet:

When God created the lights of the heavens, He created the moon to indicate times and season; Genesis 1: 14 And God said, “Let there be lights in the vault of the sky to separate the day from the night, and let them serve as signs to mark sacred times, and days and years, 15 and let them be lights in the vault of the sky to give light on the earth.” And it was so.

The creation of the moon for indicating the times and seasons is confirmed in Psalms 104:19 that says, ‘ He made the moon to mark the seasons, …’

Thus, the moon under her feet means she will stand on the wisdom of the times and seasons. The wisdom of times and seasons is the wisdom to understand the time changes on earth which is the wisdom of prophecy. Prophecy tells of different times and seasons on earth, Israel and the church from the beginning to the end of ages. Thus, ‘clothed with the sun and the moon under her feet’ simply means, the woman of Rev. 12 will be given the prophetic wisdom of the end time seasons.

Another meaning of her clothing can be seen from the point of righteousness. Christ is the righteousness of the church and individual believers. Christ’s righteousness in giving himself up until death for the sake of sinful mankind is a light of salvation of the world. Likewise, the righteous acts of the church and saints shine like a light to the communities around them.

Like the sun, Jesus Christ Has His Own righteousness that shines bright to all mankind in the world whereas, the church, like the moon lacks its own righteousness and thus reflects the light of the sun just like the church reflects the Light of Christ. Therefore, from a righteous point, the woman of Rev 12 will be given the righteousness of Jesus Christ with which she will stand in the church.

The crown of twelve stars

The twelve stars are used to refer to the 12 tribes of Israel and the 12 apostles of Jesus Christ just as used to describe the gates and foundation stones of the New Jerusalem in Rev. 21.12

Revelation 21  12 .. On the gates were written the names of the twelve tribes of Israel.  14 The wall of the city had twelve foundations, and on them were the names of the twelve apostles of the Lamb.

Her crown indicates to whom she is sent; to Israel and the church. For Israel, the birth of her anointed son who ‘will rule all nations with an iron scepter’, is the sign of their redemption they wait for, and for the church, the birth of this male child will mark the fullness of the gentiles as it is written;

Micah 5:3Therefore Israel will be abandoned until the time when she who is in labor bears a son,
and the rest of his brothers return to join the Israelites.

Thus, the woman of Rev. 12, will be given the heavenly wisdom to understand prophetic times and seasons, she will be sent in the righteousness of Jesus Christ to both Israel and the church.

Stay in Christ Jesus and May His Grace be sufficient as You seek heavenly wisdom and knowledge
